At the center of each person exists the potential for genuine happiness.

Dr. Dana Hodgdon graduated with a Masters Degree in psychology in 1996 and has held positions at various hospitals throughout Southern California since that time.  He received a Ph.D. in Psychology in 2015.  For the last eighteen years Dr. Hodgdon has worked at Torrance Memorial Medical Center.  As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dana has a significant amount of experience providing therapy for people with addiction, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, and bereavement.  Dr. Hodgdon is also trained to provide EMDR Therapy for trauma recovery.  In addition, Dana provides regular lectures and seminars in the surrounding community on topics such as Coping with Stress, Bereavement, Death and Dying, and Mindfulness Based Practices.

Although he sees a person's family history as being crucial to understanding the current circumstances, Dana's focus is on a person's strengths based on the notion that much of therapy is centered on regaining balance in the face of imbalance.  When he is not working, Dana enjoys fly-fishing, photography, racquet ball, and quiet evenings at home with his wife.

Compassion and understanding help us to heal.  Some of us are better at giving compassion rather than receiving it.  It is important to balance them both.
